Like many other illustrious artists before him, Petitom embarks here on a representation of Eden - or Garden of the World - an allegory of celestial paradise on Earth.

For him, Eden is above all a joyful, curvaceous ode to the human body, its movements, and its singularity. Our secret garden, in a way—the one Voltaire (via Candide) encourages us to "cultivate." Because more than a simple bodily shell, the body is first and foremost a reflection of our soul.

And that is the true strength of our friend Petitom: his minimalist style coupled with his great sense of humor make his creations accessible to everyone, even though he takes care to always incorporate multiple layers of meaning.
