SAMUEL ECKERT
x LE CARTEL
Samuel Eckert is an artist, illustrator, and art director. His work cultivates a spontaneous and clean line, where the absurd and a faux naivety meet.
He creates a language that plays with words and graphics to engage, seduce, make people smile, and sometimes reflect.
His works depict dreamy scenes of ordinary life, sentimental silhouettes, sharp commentary, and rather sweet dreams. Between visual explorations and micro-narratives, his images resonate with a form of pure pleasure by adopting a joyful irony, gratuitous nonsense, and an enjoyable simplicity, the better to strip reality bare.
Juggling between different practices and different media (from murals to skin, as well as paper or canvas), he blends his personal work with commissioned projects addressing identity or illustration challenges for a variety of clients: communication agencies, magazines, associations, small and large companies, clothing brands, and others. Not to mention the various workshops he leads for children and adults, building projects that combine micro-narration and collective work—in order to develop their capacity for synthesis.
Samuel is collaborating for the first time with LE CARTEL in 2024, as part of the group textile exhibition “PARIS EST UNE FÊTE”.
