x THE CARTEL
A passionate and frenetic illustrator, POZLA is an all-around artist recognized on both a national and international scale.
A comic book author and a jack-of-all-trades in the animation world, his credits include films as diverse as PERSEPOLIS, ERNEST & CELESTINE, and LASCARS.
He takes on roles ranging from designer, animator, and storyboarder to screenwriter or director on renowned opening sequences, music videos, short films, and series.
A graffiti artist since the late 90s, POZLA sprinkles his career with group and solo exhibitions, and continues to paint on a large scale, subtly playing with the urban environment. Some of his works are monumental; his wacky, colorful characters emerge from buildings, accompanied by a story or a reflection—a moment of escape that leaves residents with a childlike smile.
In parallel, POZLA develops his own world and stories in comics, either alone or in collaboration. He moves from trashy-zany-post-apocalyptic comedy (MONKEY BIZNESS with Eldiablo), to youth fiction (L’HOMME QUI COURAIT APRES SA CHANCE), to reportage comics (ON VA S’ARRANGER with Wilfrid Lupano), and even autobiography (CARNET DE SANTE FOIREUSE). This deeply personal album was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Angoulême Festival in 2016.
His latest project in the works, the animated series THE DOOMIES, co-created with Andres Fernandez, which blends comedy, suspense, and thrills for children, will be released on the Disney+ platform for Halloween 2024.
POZLA is currently working on a comic book about an entirely different subject: couples and family, scheduled for 2025!
A loyal friend of LE CARTEL since its inception, POZLA is collaborating with the brand in 2024 as part of the textile exhibition “Paris est une fête.”
