Julien Ekiem is a freelance artist and designer based in Lyon.

Born in the Paris suburbs, he developed an interest in imagery from an early age and quickly built up the graphic and visual knowledge to which he would devote his studies. He began his career as a freelance graphic designer in 2007 and has since worked for creative agencies and various brands.

Alongside his work as a designer, Julien Ekiem develops a more personal style, adopting a simple visual language in his works based on clean, stylized lines, blending bold colors, patterns, and repetitive motifs. Rich in content and combinations, with a plurality of mediums, his works can be read as a sprawling whole or as a multitude of protean and autonomous elements.

A versatile and diligent artist, Julien Ekiem has evolved significantly since his beginnings and is currently shifting towards a more contemporary and graphic approach, as evidenced by his latest works.

Julien is collaborating with LE CARTEL for the first time in 2024, as part of the release of the collective t-shirt collection “Paris est une fête”.
