"To create is to live twice"
— Albert Camus
Jérôme Masi, a 2001 graduate of the Emile Cohl School in Lyon, has forged his artistic path with determination and finesse. Now based in Annecy, he divides his life between family joys and his artistic career, which began in 2005.
Initially a graphic designer and then an art director for various brands and agencies, Jérôme successfully evolved, pivoting his career toward illustration in 2012 under the aegis of the Creasenso agency.
His art, which he deploys for prestigious European and international brands such as Mavic, Perrier, PBS, and Orange, reveals a relentless quest for pure expression. In recent years, Jérôme Masi has expanded his field of artistic exploration by working on canvas and limiting the print runs of his works, making each piece a unique testament to his vision.
His artistic approach, resolutely minimalist, is an ode to simplicity. It seeks to capture the very essence of form and color through the use of pure geometry and restricted palettes. This approach, where every detail counts, aims to construct visual harmony where order and meaning intertwine. Jérôme's sources of inspiration are rooted in everyday life, in an attentive observation of his environment and the fluctuations of his soul, thereby translating universal reflections and emotions into images.
In this universe where form meets substance, Jérôme Masi's art echoes contemplation, the search for balance, and the quest for meaning. His creations, both thoughtful and intuitive, offer a new perspective on the world around us, inviting delicate introspection through the prism of art.
LE CARTEL is collaborating with Jérôme for the first time in 2024, as part of the collective t-shirt exhibition “Paris is a Moveable Feast”.
